MOBALA MATSURI FESTIVAL 2009

MOBARA MATSURI FESTIVAL  2009

Tsuchi No Yado went to The Mobara Festival which was held at Mawson Lakes. This was a wonderful opportunity for all to learn some more about the Japanese culture. Some of the stalls included: Kimono dressing, origami making, a traditional tea ceremony, kite making competition for the children and many others.

At our stall we had beautiful origami boxes and flowers. We also had homemade jams, herbs and flowers from our garden and Hiroko’s books, printed t-shirts and DVD’s.

Maria (manager ) and Junko (friend of Yado’s) got into the spirit of things and dressed in traditional Japanese out-fits. It was a great day catching up with ‘old’ friends and making some new ones! We also took the opportunity to tell everyone about Tsuchi No Yado and what a special place it is.
